Kofu is a large woolly ball of energy. He is available due to lack of landlord permission to have him in a flat. Kofu came into ARW care as a matter of urgency. There is a possibility that he is related to some of the pups that we at ARW have adopted out this year. He was from the same area.
Kofu loves everyone. He would like to live with a spayed female dog based on successful introductions.
He needs and wants company so he cannot live in a home where people are at work all day. He loves his outdoor time so a garden (6ft robust fencing) is a must.
He has lived with a cat so he might be ok based on VERY careful introductions.
Longcoat Akitas require a lot of grooming. Kofu’s groomer gave Kofu a cracking reference. He takes it all in his stride.
Kofu could live with dog savvy children aged 10 plus.
Kofu will be neutered under ARW’s neutering policy as it is a condition of adoption.
Akitas are a large breed hunting dog. Please be well read up on breed traits.
Adopters must be dedicated to appropriate socialisation and training.
Adopters will need to demonstrate financial means to support the luxury of owning an Akita and the associated costs.
