Meet Tia who is a 7 year old gorgeous girl. Tia is looking for a new home due to change of circumstances at no fault of her own.
Tia is very loving and loyal girl who loves her family. She is very playful and wants to walk and play all day. She loves toys, especially balls, likes pulling on rope whilst playing tug of war, and, of course, loves to play fetch with sticks. She still get the 'zoomies'. She can be very excitable. She has all the usual Akita traits and heritage: she loves being stroked on her ears and above her tail area and does the 'Akita lean'. She knows commands like sit, lay down, paw, other paw, up (to stand up) she knows 'good girl' and 'naughty girl'. She will do anything for a treat.
Tia is a lovely dog with a gentle and friendly temperament. She will do well in a family home with older teenage children or a couple with no children. New owners must be strong enough to hold her lead in case she chases cats or squirrels when out,
but with training and distraction this can be improved. Intelligent and can even speak on cue (bark). She waits at the door to leave for a walk and waits at the door when gets back to enter her house. Tia will need someone home to give her attention. She is affectionate and doesn’t like to be left alone for too long, so she would need someone who is home most of the time.
She could live with another dog but introductions would need to be done first. Enjoys playing with dogs she knows. Tia is fine with other dogs on lead, but doesn’t like off lead dogs running up to her. Will stop and look at another dog but no signs of reactivity.
Tia walks lovely on a lead. She loves to sniff when out. She’s intelligent and knows quite a few cues, such as she would wait at the traffic lights to cross the road. She is motivated by food. Likes being petted and made a fuss of. She has a lovely temperament and is quite gentle and calm. Will let you know when she needs to go out to the garden to toilet.
If you believe Tia is for you please fill out an adoption form for her.
