Akita Rescue & Welfare UK - ARW - About Us

The Akita Rescue & Welfare Trust (UK) was founded in 2004 and became a registered charity (number 1112054) in 2006. It is staffed entirely by volunteers so all moneys raised are used directly to help Akitas in care and to further the aims of the Trust. It already has many Akitas on the books awaiting assessment and new homes.

The Trust needs your help to support its work. The ARW is a charity dedicated to all aspects of the welfare of both the American and Japanese type of Akita. We not only rescue and re-home Akitas, but work to provide advice and information on many facets of ownership, including behaviour, training, diet and health. To this end we also support other organisations that are similarly motivated, for instance the research into canine diseases to which Akitas, amongst other breeds, may be prone.

We have a scheme were people can sponsor an Akita in need . If you would like to become an AKITA ANGEL and sponsor a dog - perhaps in memory of a lost beloved pet - please follow this link for details, or contact us.
